Damage Assessor / Electrical Utility Expert - OH

|Description:||AWP, a rapidly growing $60 million safety services provider, is seeking Damage Assessors with utility backgrounds for our disaster/storm response team. |
In the event of a storm, a Damage Assessor will report to a local AWP facility, then travel as the passenger in an AWP truck to the client site. Heavy travel will be involved, with per diem allowance, and lodging provided by host utility client.
|Duties:|| Assist electrical utility clients in outage restoration, and assist in safeguarding hazardous conditions|
Inspect and assess damage to client property and recognize potential hazards
Complete damage report and communicate recommendations to client
Complete annual mandatory refresher training (8 hour course)
Travel as passenger in AWP truck to client site anywhere within AWP's service territory
Heavy travel, with per diem allowance, and lodging provided by host utility client
FR rated clothing allowance available
|Qualifications:|| 2 or more years of experience in damage assessment, or in a related position (i.e. lineman, meter specialist, substation specialist, engineer/electrical designer) |
Knowledge and prior experience of electrical utilities
Excellent understanding of electrical infrastructure
In-depth knowledge of distribution systems
Transmission knowledge is favorable, but not a requirement
