Description:Operations Manager

Rapidly growing $30 million service provider is seeking an OPERATIONS MANAGER to assist in our expansion in the Cincinnati, OH market. This position is an active, “hands on” role requiring contact with vendors, decentralized field locations, and internal departments

AWP is America’s Traffic Control Leader, representing nearly every major public utility – electric, gas, and telecommunications. Our employees provide turn key traffic control solutions, including professional flagging, equipment rental, and full scale work zone management. Daily we deploy over 800 associates to handle simple to complex traffic control situations to keep the motoring public, and our customers safe. Our fleet of more than 550 late model well maintained traffic control equipped vehicles are mobile offices for our employees, providing all the equipment necessary to set up safe, well managed work zones. Because of our focus on safety, we consistently achieve the highest safety ratings in our industry. In addition to our daily customer requirements, we also respond within 2 hours to more than 3,500 emergency service requests annually.



Duties:RESPONSIBLITIES:
TRAFFIC CONTROL INDUSTRY EXPERTISE
o Develop a superior understanding of AWP’s, ATSSA’s, INDOT and local traffic control requirements.
o Become a Subject Matter Expert in Work Zone Setup and Design and Professional Flagging responsibilities
o Obtain ATTSA Certification
EMPLOYEE HIRING AND DEVELOPMENT
o Identify, Interview and Hire qualified people interested in becoming Traffic Control Professionals
o Train Employees in Traffic Control standards and company policies to ensure safe, compliant work zones
o Conduct monthly employee safety meetings
EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT
o Manage day to day employee needs including benefits, time off requests, customer issues and training requirements etc
o Communicate with corporate office as needed regarding employee issues.
o Review employee work zone set up to ensure safety and compliance
EMPLOYEE UTILIZATION
o Assign Employees to daily work.
o Provide information to employee regarding work location and equipment needs.
CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT
o Develop close relationships with existing clients in order to foster the growth of the Indianapolis Market.
o Understand customer needs including location, equipment and staffing requirements
o Follow up with customers to ensure needs are being met through the services that are being provided. Suggest alternative solutions as needed.
o Resolve any customer service issues quickly and efficiently to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT
o Work closely with Sales and Operations Teams to solidify AWP’s presence in the local marketplace and to identify potential opportunities for additional business.
o Develop and grow the Indianapolis client base by marketing our services to utility and other related companies.
o Market to clients via telephone as well as in-person with key managers for the purpose of marketing our services to prospective clients and building on existing client relationships.




Qualifications:REQUIREMENTS:

2 or more years of experience managing people and process
Strong customer service mentality and proven track record of customer service success
Record of growth resulting in increased revenues
Track record of success in managing others
Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills
Understanding of marketing functions a plus.
4 year degree in Business related field preferred.
Prior experience preferred in Traffic Control Services or Utility or Construction Industry
