| Description: | Rapidly growing national safety services provider based in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead and mentor our 1000+ member field staff. This position is an active, �hands on� role requiring contact with vendors, customers, field operations, field locations, and corporate departments. This position reports directly to the President, and requires travel to a 14 state operational territory.

AWP is America�s Traffic Control Leader, providing turn key traffic control solutions, including professional flagging, equipment rental, and full scale work zone management for a variety of infrastructure service providers. These include nearly every major public utility � electric, gas, water and telecommunications as well as major contractors providing infrastructure services such as road paving, line construction, boring, sewer replenishment & replacement, and other construction related services.

| Duties: | RESPONSIBLITIES:
SAFETY
� Convey the unrelenting focus on SAFETY to employees and customers.
� Drives the strategic direction, assists in the implementation and provides on-going support for all safety programs and initiatives.
� Advocates and enforces policies and procedures to promote safe employee working behavior and conditions
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
� Provides day-to-day supervision following the direction set by the President.
� Drive operations from order to cash to ensure service and quality objectives are met.
� Accountable for the development, deployment, and sustainability of operational and sales generation practices that drive profitability
� Assist in the establishment and growth of solid working relationships with field operations to review projects, programs, staffing & inventory issues, and process changes. Champions corporate continuous improvement initiatives.
� Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
� Facilitate at least once weekly operations reviews with operations teams to discuss execution, areas of improvement, cost review, staffing, forecasting, etc.
� Develop initiatives and make recommendations on existing processes and procedures to drive profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction
� Assist in the establishment, expansion and development of new and existing regional locations.
� Responsible for administering the company�s contractual relationships, including the negotiations and oversight of agreements concerning business transactions, collective bargaining agreements, sales agreements, employee agreements and confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
EMPLOYEE HIRING, DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
� Attracts, retains, and develops individuals into a high performing and effective team.
� Manages and develops individuals with multiple direct reports and functions
� Creates annual team objectives and works with team members to develop individual goals; meets quarterly to discuss progress with direct reports and redirects as needed.
� Delivers meaningful, timely feedback to direct reports.
� Facilitates career paths for employees by providing ongoing coaching and opportunities for developmental assignments.
� Provides direction and support to team members, particularly during critical stages of project implementation.
� Assist in forming strong relationships with Union and Non Union Employee Groups.
� Works directly with Union Business Representatives to foster positive employer and collective bargaining unit relationships.
CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT
� Accountable for the customer service model and sales generation practices that drive a selling culture that in turn, drive conversion and overall customer satisfaction.
� Participate in internal or customer meetings to review service failures related to customers. Drive service failures to success.
� Facilitate at least one face to face meeting per quarter with field personnel. In contact with key market contacts on a regular basis to ensure compliance to scope requirements and tracking and reporting project costs
� Participate in Customer/Market Project Kick off calls to communicate customer requirements related to service level requirements, staffing & asset needs, billing, order processing and reconciliation, delivery scheduling, and project management.
o Assist managers in resolving any customer service issues quickly and efficiently to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
o Work closely with branch and corporate Sales and Operations Teams to solidify AWP�s presence in the local marketplace and to identify potential opportunities for additional business.
o Train regional staff to build strong relationships with existing customer base to maintain and grow AWP�s business.

| Qualifications: | REQUIREMENTS:
� 15 or more years of experience in a corporate operations role, managing people and processes with a proven track record of developing and managing high performing teams
� 7 or more years experience in the management of line operations and a strong performance record of accomplishment and unrelenting focus on safety.
� Able to travel 20% of time
� 4 year degree in Business related field or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred.
� Strong customer service mentality and proven track record of customer service success
� Record of growth resulting in increased revenues
� Track record of success in managing others
� Strong leadership, communication, presentation and coaching skills
� Strategic, creative and tactical thinking ability to enable growth of markets
� Prior experience managing multiple locations over a broad geographic area
� Prior experience working in union and non-union environments, experience in negotiating labor agreements preferred.
� Strong understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet. Able to interpret and apply findings to produce results.
� Able to understand and communicate AWP�s value proposition and present it to customers
� Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products, and customer relationship management systems.
